The last step cannot go wrong.
When dies are reconditioned, EDM is the last operation, after sandblasting and weld build-up. A fault at this stage wastes the value of every operation that came before.
So we approached the project as line automation: reliability, integration, and data traceability matter as much as EDM performance.

Six machines, one coordinated flow.
We installed and commissioned a line of six EDM machines that work in a coordinated flow. The machines are arranged in an L around a single anthropomorphic robot: a conveyor brings in the dies to recondition, the robot loads them onto free machines and, once machining is done, places them on the conveyor that takes them away. The process stays continuous and manual handling drops.
Core of the system
Integrated CNC and erosion boards
The same architecture that is now the technology base of every Boris retrofit.
Operator
Custom user interface
It guides the operator through the data needed to start a job, identically on every machine.
Plant
Connected to the plant PLC
Cycle times and the ID of each processed die are available at plant level.
In production, around the clock.
The line has been running 24/7 for more than three years, which is real-world proof of the system’s stability in an industrial setting.
Remote support and diagnostics allow fast interventions and shorter downtime.
