ONA Techno H400Complete technology retrofit
A sinker EDM with sound mechanics and an outdated control architecture. We brought it up to modern standards without replacing its structure.
- Axis speed
- 6,000 mm/min
- Acceleration
- 1,500 mm/s²
- Surface finish
- 20 VDI
Sound mechanics, outdated technology.
The machine’s mechanics were in good condition, but its motion, measuring, and control systems no longer met today’s production needs. The original architecture limited performance and usability, made integration with modern systems difficult, and drove operating costs up.
The goal: a targeted intervention that preserves the machine’s value and replaces its entire technology layer.

What we changed.
And what we kept.
This is the first installation of the Boris product in its final hardware and software configuration.
| Component | Before | After the Boris retrofit |
|---|---|---|
| Generator | ONA, 1997 | Boris generator, 2026 |
| Motors | DC motors | Brushless with absolute encoders |
| Axis speed | 2,000 mm/min | 6,000 mm/min, 1,500 mm/s² acceleration |
| Measuring systems | Original | Interfaced with the new control |
| Operator interface | Original | B‑Spark software on a 27" full-touch HMI |
| PLC logic | Original | Rewritten, including the pneumatic unit and self-cleaning filter |
| Mechanical structure | In good condition | Kept |
Axes three times faster. More precise parts.
After testing, axis speed went from 2,000 to 6,000 mm/min, with 1,500 mm/s² acceleration.
Faster motion and a new-generation generator shorten machining time and make parts more precise, with finishes down to 20 VDI.
